Any espresso machine can pour a shot over ice, but some list a dedicated cold function that brews at a lower temperature. By the specs, the De’Longhi Magnifica Duo (cold extraction in under 3 minutes), the Breville Oracle Jet (Cold Brew and Cold Espresso), the Breville Barista Touch Impress and the Ninja Luxe Café Premier and Pro list one. The Philips 5500, the De’Longhi Magnifica Evo and the Ninja Mini Plus offer iced recipes instead.
What to look for.
A cold function, or just ice
Cold brew, cold extraction and cold-pressed espresso brew at a lower temperature, as the brands describe them. An iced recipe brews hot and pours over ice.
Speed
Traditional cold brew takes hours. The Magnifica Duo lists cold extraction in under 3 minutes; Ninja lists fast cold brew on the Pro.
